    MF Hill Repetitions

    Date: 17.01.2006

    Today is hill repetitions at MF loop.. quite surprise to see so many members turn up today.. we ran past Harbourfront and went up from Morse road... by the time i reach the mid of MF Park.. i was already panting like hell.. haha.. maybe cos i ran at a faster pace today.. haven been running at this speed for quite sometime..

    After a short rest, Ong started the hill repeats.. the loop is abt 1.6km..

    The first set was quite tough for me.. I felt breathless and sense lack of oxygen to my brain.. and i start to feel giddy when i reaching the peak.. I was abit scared and kept on breathing hard.. lucky to endure till the down slope part and managed to recover from there.. phew... my knee was quite ok for this round..

    2nd Set was much easier after the warm up in the 1st set.. and I felt much better.. but abit thirsty... felt abit of pain during the down slope.. and i go easy for the down slope... Ong advised me to control my knee to train up my muscle there...

    3rd Set I felt quite tired n very thirsty.. i slowed down when i approach the peak n went for a quick drink at the hilltop toilet.. could feel a tighter strain on my knee... decided to stop for the day...

    I companied Jason's gf for a short run in the opposite direction n turn back when we saw the 1st runner..

    Sunday Loooonnng Run

    I reached club super early today.. brought 2 cartons of isotonic drinks to the club.. We have a big grp of runners today.. total 19 of us.. Freddy n his son will be supporting us for the run..

    Wow finally the sky is clear today and my sports shoes wun be wet!! haha.. After all the briefing from Ong, we started promptly at 7.45am... I have a running companion today.. Divey :) Today's route is CLub-Depot Rd-Portsdown-Dover-Clementi Rd- Ulu Pandan Canal- Commonwealth- Alexandra Rd- Telok Blangah Way- Kampong Bahru- MF- Telok Blangah Rise- Club... estimated abt 32km...

    I knew I couldn't do that far.. so will just try my best to see how far I could go.. I was panting moderately when I reached Portsdown.. Wong, Anthony n DO waited for us at the exit of Portsdown.. Andre, divey n I had a short toilet break at Esso Station at Dover while the rest went ahead.. Not sure is it the water I drank.. I got a bad stomach cramp when I reached Clementi Road junction.. i went slow behind Divey n Andre.. I can't give up now.. else they would lost their way.. 2 more km to the 1st water pt at the end of the Canal.. I looked forward to the next marker at the pavement of the running track.. counting down in mind to divert my attention.. haha so glad to see Freddy n Benson.. i had a nice cool H2O.. very tempted to stop here... but I can't... Andre ended his run and told us he will be talking train back home.. so left Divey n me.. At Commonwealth, I told Divey abt my cramps and told here that I will be going quite slow.. so I briefly guide her the route so she can go ahead 1st .. Lucky the route was quite easy from Canal to Alexandra.. I bought a bottle of H2O at Shell Petrol n felt much better..

    Divey was waiting for me at the 2nd water pt.. Opp PSA.. the weather was quite hot.. I had my drink n asked Divey to carry on.. I feel bad to let her wait fo rme so many times... I followed a distance behind her.. until she turned up to Telok Blangah Rise.. I went straight ahead and Ong caught up with me from behind.. from the way he run.. could see that he was quite tired already... Kumaran came up shortly after.. and I saw Divey at the Mosque.. Ong led them back to the club.. wow it's really a home sweet home feeling when I reached the club.. haha

    Kent Ridge

    It has been raining for the past wk.. but tt nv dampen our spirits to run.. we still proceed on with the running session at the club.. I have rested for abt 2 wks already... have been down with cold.. n only did short runs to accomodate my knee..

    Today route is to Kent Ridge then Mt Faber.. Divey was asking how long will i be doing.. i was not too sure too.. cos haven been running n not sure if my knee ok anot... we started ard 6.45pm.. slightly early today.. it was still dizzling.. i had my knee guard with me n started an easy pace.. it was still ok.. so i just followed behind Yean, Divey n Wong..

    When we reached the railway track, Anthony n DO were waiting for us... n really grateful tt they laid a nice path for us to cross the muddy grd.. :) CM n Enghwa caught up with us at Science Park junction.. so far so good for me.. just abit 'panting' cos long time nv run hahaha...

    Thr frontiers were already gg for their 2nd round when we reached Kent Ridge... i panted heavily at the slopes.. n did 1.5 rounds and head back to the club.. overall is a nice good panting run for me..

    Die Hard Run in the Heavy Rain

    After the Marathon, I suffered badly from my old knee injury... have not been running long and frequently lately... whenever i tried to run, it will relapse.. and i oni did short easy run..

    The rain stopped and we quickly start our run... Today's route is to Sentosa.. My knee still hurts and I told myself to go real slow... By the time I reached Sentosa, the front runners were already far ahead.. it started to pour heavily.. and CM told it was passing rain.. but as we ran further in to Siloso Beach, it was pouring so heavily that the visibility was very bad.. the lights were light dimmed.. lucky Adam managed to E-brake in time.. else we will all bang into the road barrier...

    By the time we reached the 2nd toilet, it was still pouring... i had never ran in a die hard rain b4.. i felt both my gears and legs so heavily soaked with the rain... and i ran slowly with cm ahead of me... we took some short cut and return back to club from telok blangah rise direction...
