DTM (Deep Tissue Massage)
I din go to club today.. since I can't run.. so decided to go for my maiden DTM session as Neny has a free slot today.. Experience: Painful! My pain threshold is too low.. hahaha..
Neny started off with back massage for my shoulders n back.. 1st comment: ur shoulders are very stiff and ur back too.. yes, i always got stiff shoulders n back.. desk job.. no choice haha.. When she moved down to my bums, woah the center part is really painful.. I asked her.. how to know if it is achy or painful for bum.. told her tt i can't really differentiate pain n achy feeling.. cos seems like the same to me.. haha.. she laughed n replied.. it's both feeling together! ache n pain.. woah! i asked if she could shift the massage bed to the wall.. so i can bang my head againest it to relieve the pain inflicted.. haha She then carried on with the massage at my hamstring n calf.. hamstring is tight too.. but it is the one tt is deep inside.. we were talking but for a moment i can't response.. hahah pain until mute... the surface one is still ok not as senstivie.. so normally i wun feel it.. no wonder when Julie did a short massage for me at the back of my knee.. i felt the sharp pain.. calf was tight too.. i told her haven done DTM for my life.. 1st time do really a killer to loosen the muscles.. next is my ITB.. my right ITB seems slightly more painful than my left..(tho my injured leg is on the left but did some massage on sun on my left to lossen it) .. the really killing part tt i experience are my quads! Neny said my right quads muscle are all lumped together like a spiderweb n struck to my bone.. ooh no.. when she try to separate them n release from the bone.. i was screaming n clutching my palms in silence with great pain.. 'My mind kept thinking When is it gg to end!! stop stop!" when she is done, i asked her.. so all the spiderweb released? hahaha.. both of us laughed... :P
Tho it is painful in the process, but i felt my muscle really loosens up n soften.. it was a very fun session with pain n laughter throughout. She shared with me what exercise I should do before n after run.. also the core n strengthing exercises we shld do.. as she can oni help us with the massage.. the core n strengthening have to be done by ourselves.. Quite a no of our runnign club members had went for the massage .. Dream, DO, Freddy, Fennel, Waifung too :D Looking forward to my 2 upcoming sessions with her before i go for my HK race. She asked me to try a short recovery run tml .. n let her know if i felt much better.. :D
