    Canterbury

    There was no Sunday run last wk as we had a late hangout for our 2nd Annual CNY Lo Hei cum BBQ at our sweet n kind Yean's condo. Thanks CM, Adam n Yean for all the preparation.

    Today's route is to Canterbury.. my watched showed 11mins plus when i reached the Alexandra junction.. woah tt's fast! Yuen asked if my legs have recovered as i am doing a much faster pace compared to my past runs.. when i reached the 1st upslope to Yorks road.. my legs couldn't seem to move n my fuel tank start to run low.. Thomas came up to me n asked if i saw a squirrel ran past me.. haha i totally missed it.. i must be too shack to realise it.. he shaked my hand n wished me Happy New YEar n asked me to enjoy my run :) Thks!

    Lee overtook me shortly as we headed towards Russell rd.. I saw Ricci speeding out with Derrick following closely.. then i saw Dear at the Russell junction n paced me.. i told him jialuk.. i can't seem to run.. my legs were really heavy by then n Yean overtook me.. Jimmy provided some entertainment as I exited from Canterbury.. he told me tt my landing were quite loud.. haha i really felt tired n drained.. wanted to stop so much.. i dragged myself out n finally threw the white towel at PSA junction.. told dear tt i can't move on.. we walked all the way back to club.. wat a run for me.. told Dear tt i have no confident of completing the 21km at all.. just keep my fingers crossed for this Sunday.. Our dear Julie had finished the stretching session with the rest when Dear n I reached the club..

    10km Time Trial

    My ITB was much better after my 3rd session of DTM with Neny.. she said i almost recovered n can resume my running.. woah so happy! :D

    Dear planned MF 10km time trial for us today.. everyone started off very fast.. kumaran already past the 1st BS when we just turn out of club junction... not wanting to overstrain my just recovered ITB.. i had to be very cautious today.. told myself.. take it as a normal training instead.. Julie n her fren caught up with us at Seam Im junction.. n they picked up pace quite quickly n was quite ahead when we reached kampong bahru.. I was still pondering if i shld go up MF or head back doing oni 5km as instructed by trainer.. but since i still feel good, i decided to head up MF.. this time up was much easier than tue.. tho my calf still aches slightly after the DTM.. felt i went up faster this time n i closen up the distance with shirley n julie.. julie sped off at the down slope as shirley n i cautiously ran down Morse rd.. we slowly closen up the distance with julie as we reached TB rise.. I decided not to push any harder as we approaches club.. Julie n Shirley increased their pace at the last stretch n completed in 1 hr.. I did in 1hr01min.. tho 4 mins slower than my PB for this route.. it was quite a satisfying run for me.. haven work out so hard for my run after so looonggg.. :D

    Lunar New Year RuN

    After tt long sunday run.. i rested for almost a wk before attempting to run today.. did swimming for the past 2 training days last wk.. Dear asked me how am i gg to do my half marathon in HK as i haven been training.. JC2 also asked him how i will be able to do it as i haven been running much... i should change to 10km instead of 21km.. nv pin much hope on it.. just hope i wun be pulled up the bus..

    Today's route is 2.5 rds of the 10km MF route.. not sure how far i can do.. i just try to run as much as i can.. I start off cautiously down Henderson rd.. had a hard time trying to catch my breathe after laying off for a wk.. Peter, Julie were already far ahead.. Julie has a target today.. 25km within 2hr45min.. shld be quite easy for her :D as I went up the steep part of MF, I saw Peter n Michael ahead. Michael was walking up the slope.. i tried to closen the distance.. breathing real hard n tried hard to keep my legs moving.. very tempted to walk too.. but told myself if i nv overcome this.. really tt's it for my HK run.. phew* managed to struggle it all the way to the peak.. as i went down Morse rd, could feel slight strain at my left ITB... did a very slow pace back to club .. cont'd on another 5km loop to make up 15km today.. stop n stretched along TB road as Jimmy, Derrick, Desmond, Laichee overtook me along the way.. doing their 2nd round.. my watch clocked 1hr45mins

    Longest Run

    Went to Neny for my 2nd DTM yesdae .. felt much better for my ITB.. decided to try if i can do >12km today.. today route is Club-Depot-Pasir Panjiang-SBV- NUS-Kent Ridge-Pasir Panjiang-Club.. but i will skip the Kent Ridge part n come back from Clementi Rd-Haw Par VIlla-Pasir Panjiang-Club.. estimate abt 16km..

    Our kind n patient Peter companied me today :D We started off from Henderson rd instead of depot rd.. Along Pasir Panjiang, one after another.. Jianguo, Laichee, Derrick, David, Anthony, Fennel ran past us.. Wong, Small Chua, Kok Kong Julie, Bill, Alber, PS overtook us along the 99 slopes towards SBV.. We were wondering where was Micheal as he was no where in sight.. i started to feel abit of tightness at my ITB as we past Stockport rd.. Peter asked me to go easy as there's a no of ups n down at NUS.. Teck Hou was the 1st runner followed by Ricci.. as we went up the slope, Michael joined us n went ahead.. We cont'd the easy pace n chatted almost through the run.. Without realising, i managed to do 2hrs of run.. woah tt's e longest i ever did so far.. but both sides of my ITB were very tight after the run.. n i walked like a penguin.. hahaha...

    5km Time Trial

    As there's alot of ups and down along depot road, I decided to run to Queenstown stadium by a different route today.. Henderson - Redhill MRT- Queenstown MRT- Stadium.. this route is quite flat n i took abt 25mins.. ard the same time taken for the usual route :D By the time i reached the stadium, almost all our runners are already at the track :D

    Dear briefed on today's program.. it's a 5km trial run.. 12.5 laps of 400m.. not sure how much i can take it as I am still nursng my ITB.. I just do as much as i can.. following yean n kee sin at the 1st few rds.. did abt 2:30 mins per round.. by the end of 5th round, i start to feel the strain .. aargh... i slowed down n did another 4.5 rds before calling it a day.. stretched but my left legs can't walk properly.. n i have to take a bus back to club. :(

    While the rest did the usual 4km route back, Alan asked Teck Hou, small chua n JC to join him doing additional distance to Botanic garden.. woah!!

    Restarting my EnGine

    I had my shoes on today! Yes finally gg to run after my last run last wk.. Today's training is MF loops.. but doubt i can do the loop at the moment.. I went easy on at the back.. gonna be cautious if i planning to go for my hk completion.. Bought 2 bottles of H2O for $2 at cheers before heading up to join the rest at the carpark. Saw Alan, JC2 and TH midway of morse road.. they were doing their intensve training.. As I jogged up, i tried to balance my swing movement with a bottle on each hand.. so far so good.. Dear briefed all on the training for today.. n without further delay, they start off the continunous loops.. while i did some stretches.. saw Anthony n DO heading down to Morse road doing their own run to Labrador park.. Michael n Lok came up from Morse road shortly and joined the rest.. Melvin was incredible (cos he broke the record of doing 8 loops in an hr!!).. completed the 1st loop in 6.55min.. followed by dear and kumaran.. after seeing almost all the gang finished their 1st loop.. My legs were eager to try out the loop too.. ok ok.. just 1 loop... I went on comfortably up the slope.. n complete the loop easily in abt 12min.. went on very cautiously at the down slope part.. ok tt's all for the day.. i stayed on to stretch.. after a while, my legs were itchy all over.. wah alot of mosquitoes... think i provided them a sumptuous dinner.. hahahaha...

    Shortly after, Fennel joined me too.. I was surprised. cos she always give me a "nv say stop" impression.. she was really very tired n felt tt she is not training efficiently... so decided to stop.. done her rat race last wk, swimming lessons yesdae nite n her lunch hr swimming today.. this lady is really another ironwoman!! heard from Neny that she also got high pain threshold.. we chatted n cheered for the rest.. hahah then comes Dear.. she was so afraid of him.. kept quiet n turned back .. i asked her wat happen?? she was worried tt she will get scolding from trainer.. hahaha i can't stop laughing when i heard this.. she is so cute! think there is a real big big misunderstanding.. Ong is 1.not tt fierce (tho may look stun at times when he conduct training cos he really needs the attention when he is briefing.. when he talks pls pay attention..then we will get to see him smile more.. hahaha) 2. wun scold if u nv keep up with the training.. it's really up to u when it comes to training.. he create the program for all.. whether to do it is all up to wat goal u are aiming for n also ur body condition.. tho it's good to push the limit for ur own body sometimes.. u are the best person to know ur own condition n whether the training is efficient.. :D At the end of the day, u are the one beneficial from it when u achieves ur goal :D

    Recovery run

    Neny asked me to do a short easy recovery run today. Peter joined me as his recovery run after 5 loops of MF loop (preparation for next wk MF intervals). We talk abt my DTM session yesdae.. After a distance, i told Peter "wah no joke.. after no running for a wk, talk n run very very chuan"... hahaha.. i tried to monitor my foot as i ran.. making sure it is in the str direction as Neny diagnose that my knee was slightly slated.. due to the way i am running.. inwards.. i din feel much of a strain until Esso station when the slight tightness came back.. i carried on n Peter asked if it was ok.. i reduced the pace further n stopped at the start of the henderson slope as i felt a twight.. told Peter.. think i gonna stop for the day.. my watch clocked 26mins for 4km..

    I reported to Neny on my progress and she suggested tt i can carry on doing swimming n light run to improve the condition.. n also strengthening exercises :)
