    Last Sun Run to D-Day

Today is our last Sun run before the Marathon... Ong and I saw Alan Chao running along lower Delta rd from our cab... we reached the club @ ard 7am... we changed into our gear and gathered at the lobby.. Teen joined us today.. LKY from sgrunners also joined in with DO.. total strength is ard 20 pple....Ong briefed us on the route.. we will be doing 16km.. the usual route to Botanic garden then back from Farrer rd-Maraget drive-Delta Canal-TB garden-Henderson.. we started at 7.30am.. Kumaran sped off at the start.. with Ong, Alan Yeo following close behind.. Ong told me later tt they waited for us at the Delta traffic junction... else all of us will be very far away.. i managed to cross the junction in time and followed the front pack.. haha of cos the last of the frontiers.. hehe.. along the canal, i felt the strain at my shin... maybe becos of the tiger paw.. as there was not much cushion already... breathing wise still quite ok...Ong waited for me at the entrance to Ridley park.. my breathing got abit heavier by then... the whole group was waiting for us at the entrance of Botanic garden.. and Ong went ahead to led the grp... shortly after Orchid garden, Anton, DO and LKY U-turned back to look for the fellow sgrunners as they arranged to meet for a short prata session after a few rds in the park.. I cont'd to the 2nd toilet and met the frontiers... we had a 10 mins break before proceeding back to club...I followed EH from Farrer Rd to Maragaret drive.. haha aiming at her water bottle... i think tt keeps me gg.. I din bring my fuel belt today... tot shld be ok since today route is short.. the weather was cool while we start.. but the sun started to heat up after 1 hr plus of running... finally at end of Maraget drive... EH stopped and drinks... i called out for EH to wait.. and asked if i can have some water... hehe... i saw Ong behind us after we crossed the junction... the sun was quite glaring along Delta canal.. and i can't wait to get out! haha i forgot my sun block today.. :p

This is the 1st time i ran back all the way to the end of Delta canal then TB garden.. this is abt 1km more then the short cut back from Gan Eng Seng sch.. Ong caught up with us along Henderson road.. and we ran back to the club together.. :)

Sentosa Tapering Run -- Chk out the Xmas Tree @ MF

The weather was hot and sunny today.. as compared to the past 2 rainy days.. the babes are back today! SH, EH and Yean.. hehe Freddy and DO, our new member, managed to join us for our Sentosa tapering run.. quite a number of members turn up today too.. about 20.. :)

We start off from Henderson road.. as usual the frontiers sped off fast ahead of me... Yean, CM, Patric, Small Chua and Wong ran in the same pack...by the time we reached the junction into Sentosa, the frontiers were already far ahead and we din get to see them throughout.... once the Green man appears, we ran in.... shortly after the traffic junction, i accidentally stepped in a hole on the pavement.. and felt a twist in my ankle.. my 1st reaction.. jialuk.. stopped and do some rotation and asked Yean not to worry.. go ahead 1st.. she told me rest 1st rest 1st.. and off she went ahead to join CM... i did some ankle rotation and think shld be ok and ran on.. after some distance, dun felt much on the ankle part.. heng arh.. marathon coming.. dun wanna injure at this pt of time.. I managed to catch up with them at the end of the bridge... haha think they slow down for me.. hehe :">

Soon we reach the 1st toilet at Palawan Beach.. but no one in sight already... CM said no break.. so we cont'd on.. Patric, Chua slowed down.. hahah maybe wanna catch sight of any babes ard.. kekeke i cont'd my pace and went for a short break at the 2nd toilet.. by the time i was out.. the rest were all gone.. haha Wong told me they din take break and cont'd on.. wow.. by the time we ran up out of Siloso Beach, they were already disappearing up the slope... on and off we managed to see them ahead of us as there were quite a number of zig zags along this route.. Wong spotted then big Xmas Tree @ Mt Faber.. it was really a very nice view.. bight and tall with sparking blue lights... my pace was about the same as I did on Tues... my breathing was getting abit heavy and whenever there a downslope, i used tt to recover my breathing...We didn't turn in to the musical fountain.. we went towards the slope we ran in.. and saw CM group ahead too.. about 300m away... at the bridge, i started to feel tired.. energy going low and drying up.. far ahead, i saw the red man on.. but when we reached the junction, CM's grp was not there.. they didn't stop at the traffic junction and ran along the Harborfront center.. Wong and I decided to run back from Kampong Bahru as the distance is the same.. and managed to see the Xmas tree once again.. this time closer and very much taller.. hahahaa..

    Shiok cum Shack out Run

The weather was rainy for the whole day.. it was still drizzling when we gathered at the lobby.. today's route is Club-Delta canal-Ridley Park-Tanglin-Delta Canal-Club.. Alan Chao joined us just in time before we start.. Alan said surprisingly I was the oni gal today... I guess the rest skipped the run due to the rain...

The group started off in a slow moderate pace in the beginning... I managed to keep within the group till Delta Canal.. when they have warmed up and sped off.. CM and Alan Chao waited for me.. haha enjoying their conversation while i tried to maintain a good pace.. it had been sometime since I can run "normally".. so far so good.. so i carried on.. by the time we reached the Republic poly junction, we saw the 1st group running up the slope and adam was waiting at the traffic lights...

By the time we crossed the junctions, we already lost sight of the front group... Adam also led further away... on the way in to Ridley Park, I could feel my breathing gets abit heavier but still controllable.. so i was took a deep breathe in and slowly release out... Alan followed closely.. and my legs naturally stride out further and tried to keep pace with him... on the way out to tanglin road, Adam was abt 50m ahead.. haha very funny Alan tot i wanted to overtake Adam.. so he told me he will set pace for me.. i tried to follow him and could feel i was using more energy to catchup.. we managed to run beside adam after American embassy but oni for a short while.. cos Adam increased his pace faster and faster.. hahaha we tried to keep close... halfway thru Tanglin, my energy level was going lower and lower.. and panting faster and faster.... how i wish there is a traffic light for me to stop.. haha.. but no.. the nearest traffic light is at tiong bahru park.. kakaka... Alan slowed down for me and Cm said no need to catchup liao.. hahaha...

My pace slowed down about 6min/km... When we reached the 2nd exit of Delta Canal, i told Cm "turn back from here".. he said adam in front... let's go to Delta road... I said"No no.. no breathe liao.." Alan laughed and said today's run very shiok.. no need to use energy... then Cm added on.. today I shld feel very honour to have one Elite runner and Cm with me all the way... hahaha i almost burst out laughing.. but really felt very gratifide to have them to pace me along the way.. it has been a long time since I had run like tt.. really test out my lungs and legs... and let me recall how to run faster... cos i seem to have lost tt feeling since i had my knee problems and always worried tt i might agitate them.. so always slow and caution... and also will never feel bored with their jokes along the way.. hahaha both are really good pacers! got chance must run along with them again :D

I din wear my knee guard today.. and felt quite ok without much pain on my knee today... except for the lower back and buttock pain.. maybe the impact of the run.. tho can felt the shackness after the run... but very shiok to drain out!

Sunday Run cum Birthday Celeb for Wong

We were surprised by the decor done by CM, EH and JC.. they reached @ 6.30am to do up the white board for Wong's Birthday.. we took a group pic before we start off.. Anton asked abt my knee, i felt abit better after the rest on thurs... Ong gave a quick briefing on the route and off we ran to Keppel-Marina South.. Kumaran and JC raced one another from the start..

The initial part was quite ok for me and I din feel any pain on my knee.. so I did abit faster than the past few runs.. after abt 4km, i started to feel very thirsty.. whenever i stopped @ the traffic junction, i have to drink from my fuel belt.. once in Marina, i can't wait to reach Victor's superbowl.. so i can take in more water during the break... just b4 superbowl, i saw Chris walking out in pain... later we found out tt he experienced sharp pain at the side of his left foot.. just hope tt it is not Gout.. as it will affect for life....

I met up some Sgrunners @ superbowl.. 1st time saw Sotong... wow he really very tall.. i have to tilt my head up high b4 i can see his whole face.. haha.. saw brokie, bee and tiwazz too :) i took a short break and joined the rest to the marathon U turn pt.. after the U turn pt, i felt a sharp pull at the side of my left thigh so i slowed down quite a bit and saw Ong at the junction... told him abt my pain and thirst... he told me to stop at keppel coffeshop for water break.. the weather was still quite cloudy.. and i got a can of H2O @ the coffeeshop.. 5 more km to go.... i ran with Ong, Tony, alex and andre back to the club..

After the run, we have a Birthday celebration for our fav member, Wong.. @ the club, we were treated with nice cake and refreshments from Cm, Yean and Adam.. then went for our 2nd rd celebration @ Hotel Miramar hotel for buffet.. we had a great time sharing all the jokes and nice food... haha but very sinful, i ate more than i ran.. kakaka

    Canterbury-Labrador

This wk training will be flat ground... as usual, I put on my knee guard and started off slow with the group.. I reached Alexandra junction in abt 13mins... Cm waited for me and he told me he got abit of calf pain.. so will be doing slow with me today.. we managed to close up the distance with Adam, Bernard, Lee and Yean when we came out from Canterbury....

On our way in to Labrador Park, we saw Kumaran on his way out already.. wow he was really fast! abt 800m later, we saw Ong... so good tt their legs can carry themselves so fast and finish the run.... Adam almost went up the Labrador hill.. but was called back by Cm and Yean.. no hill today.. haha Lee joked tt Adam wanted to do extra also cannot.. kekeke... our cute Yean replied tt if Adam do, then we all got to do.. so better stop him.. hahaha... i took a quick sip of water from the cooler and cont'd on... Chua past me and gg for his 4th rd... i just did 1 rd and head back to the club... sok hwa zoomed past us and we lost sight of her after a while.. her legs are so fast and strong!

Cm sped up Henderson rd while I tried to stay close behind Lee... once back to the club, i quickly do some good stretch to prevent my leg from cramps...

Longest Run I ever did so far!

After a short briefing on the route by Ong, we started promptly at 7.15am... today route will be abt 40km... I forgot something impt today! My knee guard... was quite worried that I might give up halfway.. so I do it really slowly... CM noticed it when he saw me at the junction of the Seah Im Food Center... haha he said excuse to run shorter hor.. :p the start was quite uncomfortable for me... maybe due to psychological reasons?? hmm i just try not to let it bother me too much.. and ran on.. we bumped into mike's group and francis at the marina bay mrt.. and cm asked francis to join us for the long run...

On our way into Marina, we saw a number of enthu runners who were racing against the time... heard from CM tt some are national runners.. we ran the actual route to the bowling center and saw our group having their water break.. they had rested for abt 5-8 mins and went off shortly as we took our break.. CM led me and Yuen through the construction from Marina which links to Clifford Pier.. haha short cut short cut.. we surprised the group when we arrived... we had another water break and cont'd towards esplanade... We ran past Marina Sq-Republic Blvd.. CM suggested we do the opposite route and U turn back once we met up the earlier grp... soon we reached the 2nd toilet and CM saw Yean, adam and Alan running back and he decided to join them.. Yuen and I cont'd on towards Kallang- PA.. when we past PA, Yuen suggested we do the actual route as the rest instead of u turning back when we met up with the front group... so we climbed up the stairs to Nicoll Highway then to Mt Batten road.. Yuen encouraged me along the way and make sure tt i am still ok.. haha.. we stopped for a drink at Mobil station and then towards Fort road...

Yuen suggested to do another route instead of U turn back to the stadium... and we ran all the way into the condominiums from tanjiong rhu and then cross bridge to indoor stadium.. lucky i had my fuel belt with me to stay hydrated.. else i think i might have died of thirst halfway.. haha.. we went back to PA then Kallang and turned in to the SBR route at the park.... i filled up my bottles at the 2nd toilet and did some stretching and squatting.. i could feel the pain and tiredness of my legs now... maybe i rest too long inside the toilet... when i started to run, my legs were stiff and aches.. i looked at my watch.. i had ran for 3hr 20 plus mins... not sure how long i could last... then i saw someone familiar running towards me.. it's my sec sch fren Yongyi.. haha we hi-bye and cont'd on.. I told Yuen.. think i can't make it any longer.. will be ending at Esplanade and take a bus back... i was dragging my leg all the way.. when i finally reached esplanade and stopped, boths sides of my knees were like pinched by many needles... my clocked time 3:42mins.... and i quickly do some stretching and got a can of 100 plus.. before taking bus 195 back to club... on the bus ride.. after alighting, i vomited some yellowish fluids out and felt much better... most of the runners had completed their run, and all agreed tt the heat was unbearable... i was treated with juicy watermelons and 100 plus.. Thanks to Yean and Adam :)

I was glad to try out the distance and from today's run, it was like a trial to me on how i could handle it for the actual day.. :)

9 sets @ Telok Blangah Hill

I got a new knee guard last Sat which is not so stiff and thick.. I almost forgot to wear for today's run.. Laichee was doing some stretching while the rest had ran off when I came out from the Gym.. we slow jogged up from Telok Blangah Heights and met up with the rest before we began out Tempo runs of 1km per set around the small loop of TB Hill starting from the carpark....

Not knowing how will it be like.. I did a slower pace to test out my knee... after the 3rd set onwards, i felt my legs had warmed up and I felt I could go abit faster.. and managed to complete the full 9 sets without much difficulties.. hahah except the slope back to club.. i had to slowly walk down instead of jog... hehe

    Kent Ridge - Mt Faber

As usual from the previous runs, i did a slow start and was quite behind the rest of the group.. Akira waited for me at the junction of Alexandra road and decided to run with me as he had to go for his 35km long run training tml.. so will be going back straight to club once up to Kent Ridge park...

Once into Kent Ridge, both of us were blocked by the cement truck.. some works were going on at the entrance and we waited for about 5 mins before we can go past... We turned left and went up the gradual slope and saw Derrick running the opposite direction... Akira head back to the club while i did another loop... when i finished my 1.5 rounds whereas the rest had finished their 2.5rds and went ahead to gather at the Cannon... i had a short water break and joined the rest... those fast runners will be going up Mt Faber.. @ the junction towards Mt Faber, i saw Kumaran running back and i looked at my watch.. 1hr20mins.. wow think i need at least 30 mins if i gg up Mt Faber.. so i turned back towards Henderson road and ended my run for the day :)

Sunday Run: MF - Marina South

It was raining heavily.. we had no choice but to wait.. at abt 7.45am, we decided to start with a drizzle rain... We are doing a new route today.. part of the marathon's route in Marina then to Sentosa... abt 32km.. i am not sure if my knee is able to take the distance.. i just see how far i could go..

From thursday run, i knew if i wanted to last for the run.. i must not run fast.... so i started at a slow pace of 7min/km... the start was quite uncomfortable.. but i managed to forget abt the pain after abt 4-5km.. i guessed my legs might have warmed up and i am used to it.. Wong guided me in to Marina and we did a shorter route .. we caught up with the rest who ran the bigger loop.. we had our 1st water break with 100 plus.. and cont'd on back to Keppel road...

We met up with Colleen and another sgrunner, Ning Yu at the junction of Telok Blangah route.. they decided to head back to the club.. and Colleen suggested going up to Mt Faber.. i was thinking of my knee.. so just before the steep slope portion, i told Wong tt i will walk up instead.. as my knee can't take hills.. they waited for me at the peak and we went down the slopes and down the stairs back to the club.. i had some difficulties when i attempted to go down the stairs... my knees hurts :( basically have problem bending it..

    Queenstown Stadium

It was raining cats and dogs in the morning hours.. tt's explains y only 6 of us turned up for the run.. haha.. the lowest ever hehehe... Laichee showed us her swollen ankle and how she got it in such a bad shape.. i really got to 'bai4' her for her endurance.. she twisted her ankle at the 1st 2km of her 35km run to Mandai.. and she beared with the pain for 33km... and she was here for the tempo runs @ Queenstown.. oh my goodness..

The rain stopped at abt 7.40am and we head towards the stadium.. I had my Knee Guard with me and did a slow easy pace hoping my knee wun tense up.. it was quite bearable for me.. and i told myself.. what i am going thru is definitely not worst than wat Laichee is gg thru... at the stadium, we saw Tony, Hock Soon and Chin Whatt.. we started with our tempon rds at the stadium.. I tried to run with a faster speed.. but i was not doing any better.. instead i was limping as I ran.. my left knee was pulling with pain.. and i had no choice but to stop after 2 sets and time for the rest.. They did great! 9 sets of 800m!

Depavali Run to Fort Road- Water Support

I was not feeling so good today... and told Ong i will give the run a miss.. he also got his gout problem back.. so we decided to support drinks for the runners... our 1st stop is at 2nd toilet of Marina Promenade and we saw Alan running at a very fast pace.. haha he told Ong he dun need to drink... the rest are quite a distance behind... then we moved to the next stop... Stadium and saw Chin Whatt, Goola and Eng Hwa along the stadium link.. we gave them some drinks and met up with the rest at Indoor Stadium... the 3rd water pt is back to the 2nd toilet and last water pt is at Shenton Way... before heading back to the club...

We had a sumptuous lunch by our kind host Kumaran and his sis family members.. we had a nice long celebration with lotsa nice food and laughters and Nairobi stories from Alan :)
